Shell and WOTS Put Young People in the Driving Seat

TV motoring expert Quentin Willson gives fuel efficiency masterclass to young people in Ringwood

Celebrity motoring expert, Quentin Willson was in Ringwood on Saturday 1st October to host a fuel efficiency master class with youngsters of the ‘Word On The Street’ project. WOTS is a mobile youth project that supports and engages with young people in the Ringwood area. The event taught numerous youngsters from the project, smarter driving techniques in a fun and interactive way right at the beginning of their driving career and by the expert himself Quentin Willson.

Speaking of the event Quentin said “It was great to meet the kids of the WOTS project. They were really enthusiastic and it was amazing to see their reaction to the Shell FuelSave tips. Not only can they now practise these easy tips when they start to drive themselves, but they can also educate their parents and friends about the importance of fuel efficient driving.”

Whatever a driver’s age, the cost of fuel is a major concern and adopting smarter driving techniques from the start will help people understand how they can save fuel and cut their motoring costs. Quentin was joined by local man Len Doyle, a retired Dentist who is chair of the WOTS project and was also recently announced as being part of the first ever Shell FuelSave team. As part of this campaign, Len and the rest of the team, are on a mission to educate the country on how to cut motoring costs. The team of four from across the UK have been working with Quentin Willson to learn to drive fuel efficiently and will be taking part in a Global Gunnies World Record on the 15th October for the ‘World’s Largest Fuel Efficiency Lesson’ in Potters Fields Park, London.
